Trip down TV memory lane - Part Two

Hmmmm ... lets move on to stuff dat i started watching a year later (in 5th standard ;) ) another show dat changed TV forever ... yup and it was all about saving lives !!!
Nope its not ER !!! yup .. im talking bout Baywatch

Let's start trippin ...



I dont think anyone needs to be told about baywatch ... Its another (referring to part one) one of those shows that changed the world !!!

Would u believe it the show originally launched had low TRP (what was wrong with the world ?) .. and David Hasselhoff (of Kight Rider fame before Baywatch) put in his own money and produced the show again .. and it went on to be the most popular show of all time with over 1.1 billion ppl watching it (Redemption ;) LOL) !!!

The plot again was simple a team of lifeguards and their relationships and dangers related to beach and other activities related to the California beach lifestyle. Everything from earthquakes to shark attacks to serial killers, and even nuclear bombs !!!

Let me tell you before I watched the show I thought the show was all bout the beach ...



And later I found out it was all about the beach !!!



I didnt know that Pamela along with a host of other "lifeguards" was later going to be playmates
Infact i didnt know what "being a playmate" implied ... all i know is that lifeguards soon suddenly had different looks while going in to save ppl in danger

It was like ppl were waiting for some one to drown .. then suddenly the shreiks of the "drowning ppl" would fade and a soft theme dat kinda grows on u started to play ... the lifeguard would suddenly move the float and it would begin ... something that captivated minds of ppl of all ages for the next 10 years !!!

A tanned hot lifeguard ... with exotic oils all aver her (maybe im getting a lil carried away but who cares ... all of u hav been there and dis is a trip down memory lane LOL ) ... fighting against the waves ... aahh .. the pure beauty of it dis would carry on for bout a min so that the camera man could cover almost a ll angles including underwater shots of the "determined" lifeguard ... May the Lord Bless her Soul ... and den suddenly damn da "drowning ppl" enter the scene .. der goes the back ground score ... wish those ppl had actually drowned and the rest of the show would include another 10 lifeguards searching for them ... But the show must go on so the ppl are save or are injured and have to be taken to the hospital .. if they r lucky and the lifeguard feels that she can "resuscitate" the "victim" den der more hope for ppl as it makes more entertainment ... of course ders the usual ... one hot lifeguard cheating on her "best" frndz guy ... and another one consoling her while the "guy" prepares for making a move on dis third chick in the next show ;)

Who cares it made kick ass entertainment ...

Food for thought - not much changed between the 60's and the 90's either its hot women in another planet or hot women on the beach !!!

Trip down TV memory lane - Part One

Just looking at da kinda shit dat comes now a days on tv (read my earlier post ;) ) i suddenly thought of da shows dat i was into as a kid ... no im not gonna put a post on shows i saw on cartoon network .. LOL ... dis is before ... when the Indian Govt didnt play "Net Nanny" .. its a pun ... where we could just watch a show .. nd enjoy it

Let da memory ride begin



" Space... the Final Frontier. These are the voyages of the starship Enterprise. Its five-year mission: to explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life and new civilizations, to boldly go where no man has gone before. "

How cool did dat sound !!! Dats just how is sounds ... even though the show lasted only 3 yrs ... and was made in 1966 (i didnt know it then) ... it still was gud TV in da early nineties ;)

Here's a look at the team of the starship enterprise



Now to da ppl who havnt seen da show (if u all exist !!! watch da show !!! ) here da gist of it
Captain Kirk (William Shatner now in Boston Legal) and his merry men who find new planets on every episode ... they teleport themseleves using laser beams (its so kool considering it was da 60's wen it was made though it still has dat wow factor) to those planets ... which invariably house ppl like humans ... and are almost always welcomed by really hot women (either Amazon women or women from the Garden of Eden or sumthing lik dat ) yup ders a plot beyond these factors ... LOL ... der r laser guns .. fights ... aliens sometimes ... no gross makeup (according to these ppl the final frontier has hot women and earth like planets in abundance only a shortage of men ... not bad is it ? ) ... fights and a hurried escape to go back to the Star Ship Enterprise ... really cool space ship ... may be a few injuries to the team but its all cool in the end ...

The comic timing between Captian Kirk and Spock is really something that took this show to the next level ...
